Arfona, a leader in 3D printing and digital technology for dental applications, has announced the opening of its state-of-the-art 3D printing service bureau. The 3D manufacturing facility and testing laboratory is part of a joint venture between Arfona, LLC, and Valplast International Corp. and operates under the name Arfona Printing Services. Funding for the venture was provided by RFC Capital Partners Fund 3, LLC.

First announced in February at the Chicago LMT Lab Day, the design and construction of the facility took place during some of the most challenging months for the Northeast in recent history given the regional shutdown that was in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

“Although the quarantine provided many challenges for everyone, we decided to use the opportunity to maximize our downtime and push forward with the company expansion,” says Justin Marks, CDT, founder and CEO of Arfona, LLC. “We are happy to report that our new 3D printing center is now fully operational and open for business.”

Arfona Printing specializes in 3D printed Valplast Flexible Partials, utilizing additive manufacturing and post-processing technologies that the company developed in collaboration with Valplast International Corp. over the past decade. Laboratories can send a model scan or digital impression and Arfona will design, print, and finish a Valplast partial in 3-4 days. Valplast digital design services are also available for labs who already own the Arfona r.Pod 3D printer. In addition to 3D printed Valplast partials, Arfona Printing also offers 3D printed denture try-ins, custom impression trays, and digital models for removable and orthodontic applications.
