Grinning for Golf: Kid Smiles Celebrates Five Years of Fundraising for Oral Healthcare for Children

Posted on Thursday, July 27, 2017

Philadelphia, PA – On October 2nd, philanthropic golfers and guests will gain exclusive access to a premier member’s only club during Kids Smiles’ “Open Wide” Golf Classic and Cocktail Party. Celebrating the 5th anniversary of the event, Kids Smiles invites guests to a day on the links at Huntington Valley Country Club, voted by Golf Digest as one of Pennsylvania’s top private golf courses. After the outing, golfers and non-golfers alike are invited to celebrate their charitable efforts with food, drink, and a silent auction during the Cocktail Party sponsored by BDO. All proceeds from the event will directly support Kids Smiles’ mission to provide oral health care and health education for Philadelphia’s children in need.

Last year, generous support from sponsors and guests of the “Open Wide” Golf Classic & Cocktail Party helped raise $90,000 for the organization. The funds raised enabled Kids Smiles to provide preventive and restorative dental treatment to more than 18,000 Philadelphia children in need, while reaching an additional 20,000 children and parents with health literacy programming in the community.

“We are so grateful to everyone who supports this event, as it’s our only fundraising event of the year”, said Cheryl Janssen, Kids Smiles CEO, “This year, funds from the outing will impact our Sweet Sixteen Capacity Building Campaign. Through this campaign, Kids Smiles will be enabled to meet the growing demand for our services through education program expansion, and crucial upgrades to our facilities and technology, which will allow us to reach 3,400 more children.”

This year, Kids Smiles has enhanced the player experience by partnering with Golf Genius to provide live scoring during the golf tournament. The organization is grateful for the generous support from the following top sponsors: BDO, DentalEZ, Highpoint Dental, Jenkintown Dental, Smilestone Dental, Ballard Spahr, BB&T, Cheryl and Paul Janssen, Healthcare Management Solutions Inc., Keller Williams: Pugliese Davis Team, Keystone Property Group, Navigate, and St. Clair CPA Solutions. Aspen Dental on the Importance of Having the Right Support

Posted on Thursday, July 27, 2017

Syracuse, N.Y. – In an industry where advertising is wrought with white lab coats, dental chairs and perfect smiles, Aspen Dental-branded practices are breaking through the sea of sameness with a new recruitment marketing campaign featuring Danica Patrick, driver of the No. 10 Aspen Dental Ford Fusion in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

The campaign, which features four 30-second videos, uses Patrick’s own racing career as a metaphor for what dentists experience on their career journeys, highlighting the importance of knocking down obstacles and surrounding oneself with the right support.

The spots – “Mentors,” “Don’t Go It Alone,” “Career Hurdles,” and “Family of Support” – are currently being deployed online through programmatic display and social media advertising, as well as on television in select markets.

“One of the reasons we teamed up with Danica three years ago is that she’s the embodiment of a focused, passionate professional who doesn’t let anything get in the way of her dreams, much like the dentists who join Aspen Dental practices,” said Mike Petrosillo, senior director of marketing at Aspen Dental Management, Inc. (ADMI). “In this campaign, she helps shine a spotlight on some of the benefits of joining Aspen Dental, like having a mentor and the unparalleled support that comes along with having a team that removes the hurdles that stand between you and your dreams.”

Dentists, particularly recent dental school graduates, are increasingly choosing to join group practices supported by dental support organizations (DSOs) like ADMI that offer opportunities for practice ownership, more time with patients, and peer-to-peer professional development. According to the American Dental Association, 7.4% of practicing dentists currently operate with DSO support, a choice that is even more pronounced among new dentists – 16.3% of dentists under the age of 34 are affiliated with a DSO, and an estimated one in four new dental school graduates join DSO-supported practices.

“Along with the dentists who own and operate Aspen Dental-branded practices, we’re committed to doing whatever it takes to make it easier for dentists to achieve their dreams,” said Dr. Arwinder Judge, chief clinical officer at ADMI. “It’s why we invest so heavily in best-in-class learning and development programs, formalized mentorship, and working with dentists to map out a career that meets their long-term goals and aspirations.”

Smart Training: Low-Cost ‘Essentials’ Compliance Package

Posted on Monday, July 24, 2017

Smart Training, the nation’s leading provider of OSHA and HIPAA compliance training for dental practices, has introduced the first DIY compliance solution for dental offices.  “Smart Training Essentials is a revolutionary new product,” says Smart Training CEO Josh Matheney. “It’s unique because we’ve added leading edge technology to the compliance process, a component that the ADA and other offerings lack.   Essentials also provide up-to-date documentation, policies, and procedures, and is very affordably priced.”

Essentials clients are assisted by Smart Training compliance specialists who help dentists implement the various components.  Essentials helps dental offices fulfill several OSHA requirements, including mandates for staff training, OSHA Lead training, Job Hazard Analysis, Written Safety Programs, and monthly Safety Meetings.

Smart Training Essentials also offers HIPAA compliance necessities, including required staff and Privacy Officer training and a unique DIY Risk Assessment process.  “The HIPAA Risk Assessment process alone was four years in development,” says Matheney, “and we support the process with up-to-date HIPAA policies and procedures, patient documents and required monthly Security Meetings.”

Smart Training Essentials employs various methods to ensure that these tools are implemented, including email notifications, escalation notifications, and a new Smart Training ‘Compliance Wizard.’  Clients have 24/7 access to Smart Training’s Learning Management System, so training modules can be accessed at any time with training records available online.

Smart Training designed Essentials to be affordable for even small dental offices.  “Smart Training Essentials is priced at just $750 per year.  If clients prefer a monthly payment option, it’s available at $79 per month,” says Matheney.
