ARTS Launches on the GlobalGiving Platform

Posted on Thursday, June 13, 2019

A Reason to Smile (ARTS) is a nonprofit organization established to prevent the spread of dental disease by providing comprehensive clinical care and education to rural African communities with little to no access to dental care. To date, we've traveled to Africa 8 times, served 3,000 patients, and educated 30 communities.

ARTS has been selected by GlobalGiving to participate in its June Fundraising Accelerator.

GlobalGiving is the largest global crowdfunding community in the world. It helps local nonprofits, like ARTS, access the funding, tools, training, and support they need to become more effective.

When the Accelerator launches on June 10, 2019, ARTS will need to raise $5,000 from 40 donors through the GlobalGiving platform to graduate and become a permanent partner in the GlobalGiving community. This campaign alone will help us serve 1,100 men, women, and children living the rural communities of Senegal (September) and Uganda (October).

ARTS founders and CEO, Gunther Heyder, says, “ARTS is honored to have been selected for such a prestigious program. We are a small, bootstrap nonprofit. An opportunity like this one has the potential to make a tremendous impact on our organization and the people we serve. The dental industry is a generous one. We are relying on that generosity for a successful campaign.”
