EXCEPTIONAL LEADERS IN OPERATIVE

Two beloved professors, Dr. Jim Fuller and Dr. Jerry Denehy, exemplify the level of quality and excellence that has become synonymous with Operative Dentistry at Iowa. Their contributions throughout 78 years of combined service to the Department of Operative Dentistry are too numerous to count. Dr. Fuller and Dr. Denehy humbly agreed to allow us to fundraise for a new endowed professorship in their honor because they want the operative department to continue to thrive. To maximize the faculty’s potential as educators, clinicians, and researchers, they must have the resources necessary to excel. The single most effective way to keep current, outstanding faculty--and to recruit the next generation of operative educators--is to endow faculty positions in the department. This fund will strengthen the entire department by freeing resources for program development and innovation.

A CHALLENGING OPPORTUNITY

Our minimum fundraising goal to establish this endowed professorship is $750,000. Dr. Fuller and Dr. Denehy have agreed to contribute an exceedingly generous $300,000 in proceeds from sales of their widely-taught text book Concise Dental Anatomy and Morphology. With your help, the remaining $450,000 goal is within our reach. Your investment in this worthy initiative will have a lasting impact. Please consider an outright gift or a five-year pledge today to ensure continued greatness within the Department of Operative Dentistry and throughout the dental profession.
