Jacksonville, Fla., June 22, 2017 – At its Annual Conference June 14-19, the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) recognized undergraduate dental hygiene students for standout research in their field of study. Students from dental hygiene education programs all over the U.S. presented their work at Jacksonville’s Prime Osborn Convention Center.
ADHA’s undergraduate research awards program is sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline. Winners receive a cash prize, a matching monetary grant for their school and a crystal award to inspire their peers. Students may compete in two categories: Table Clinic/Informative Poster, or Undergraduate Research Poster.

1st Place - Tang Blanton and Jose Mendez - West LA College
2nd Place - - Jacelyn Youngerman and Arissa Morgan - Cerritos College
3rd Place - Angela Hankins and Jodi Nestle - Valencia College
Honorable Mention - Amber Noble, Lauren Limberopoulos, Erika Davidiuk - Hillsborough Community College
Research Poster winners are:
1st Place - Monica Rodarte, Nicole Wong, Christian Cruz and Marc Tenchavez - West Coast University
2nd Place - Natalie Wright, Joy Ence, Christine Childs and Brittney Tomlinson - Weber State University
