Delta Dental of Iowa and the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics are 2016 recipients of the ADEA Gies, the American Dental Education Association Foundation Award for Outstanding Innovation by a Public or Private Partner. The two were honored for their work on the Dental Wellness Plan, the dental component of the Medicaid expansion that was launched in May 2014.

The Gies Awards are the dental industry's pre-eminent recognition for individuals and organizations that exemplify the highest standards in oral health and dental education, research and leadership.
