ATLANTA—The CS 3500 intraoral scanner from Carestream Dental has been awarded a bronze 2015 Edison Award in the category of Dental 3D Printers and Services by the internationally renowned Edison Awards™. The distinguished award, inspired by Thomas Edison’s persistence and inventiveness, recognizes innovation, creativity, and ingenuity in the global economy.

The award was announced April 23, 2015, at the Edison Awards Annual Gala, held in the historic ballroom of The Capitale in New York City. Joe Andrasko, regional product manager for CS Solutions, was on hand to accept the award on Carestream Dental’s behalf.

The CS 3500 allows practitioners to easily acquire true color and 2D and 3D images. Requiring no external heater or trolley system, the CS 3500 features high-angulation scanning of up to 45 degrees and to a depth from -2 to +13mm. Additionally, the CS 3500 uses open-format STL files for easy sharing and can be plugged directly into a computer’s USB—making it truly portable. The scanner offers workflows for restorative dentistry, orthodontics and implantology.
Edison Award nominees are judged by more than 3,000 senior business executives and academics from across the nation whose votes acknowledge the CS 3500’s success in meeting the award’s stringent criteria of quality.
