IADR/AADR Publish Fifth Clinical Supplement to the Journal of Dental Research

Posted on Tuesday, February 24, 2015

Alexandria, Va., USA – The International and American Associations for Dental Research (IADR/AADR) have just released the fifth clinical supplement to the Journal of Dental Research (JDR). This peer-reviewed supplement encompasses all areas of clinical research in the dental, oral and craniofacial sciences.

As the first clinical supplement in 2015 (the fifth since 2012), this supplement brings together emerging contributions in discovery and translational science to clinical application for the healthcare community. This issue is dedicated to clinical and translational research, which is covered through a wide range of topics including the relationship between sleeping in dentures and pneumonia risks in the elderly, improving clinical trials in dentistry, predicting severe pain after root canal therapy, universal health coverage, tooth loss and atherosclerosis, and more.

This clinical supplement also includes a corresponding podcast to the featured free-access editorial titled “Universal Health Coverage: A Unique Policy Opportunity for Oral Health” by M.R. Mathur, D.M. Williams, K.S. Reddy and R.G. Watt. In the podcast, Richard Watt is interviewed by JDR Editor William Giannobile and JDR Associate Editor Jessica Lee, and he provides his perspective on the implications of universal health coverage to the oral health community.

“The Journal of Dental Research is excited to release its fifth clinical supplement,” said JDR Editor-in-Chief William Giannobile. “This supplement was created to provide a unique opportunity to publish the highest quality research articles on clinical and translational research. I thank the researchers who submitted their science for publication in this special issue.”
