AGD Honors Texas Dentist

Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) has awarded New Braunfels, Texas dentist Dr. David Crowe the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition award.

Earning this prestigious recognition from the AGD symbolizes dedication to dentistry and fulfillment of the professional responsibility to give back to the dental profession and his community through volunteer efforts. The AGD noted that by “embracing the core beliefs of the AGD throughout his career, Dr. Crowe has set an example for all general dentists to emulate.”

Fewer than 200 dentists have earned this distinction.

To receive the award, a dentist must first be a master of the Academy of General Dentistry. A master has completed more than 1,500 hours of dental continuing education and typically requires 20 years or more to accomplish.

Once that is accomplished, an additional 500 hours of approved continuing education must be completed, along with more than 100 hours of AGD-approved, dental-related community/volunteer service or service to organized dentistry.

Shortly after he moved to New Braunfels, Crowe began volunteering at New Braunfels Volunteers In Medicine. NBVIM provides free primary medical care and select dental services to low-income Comal County residents who have no insurance.
