The CleanImplant Foundation a non-profit scientifically based implant organization representing the interests of dentists including more than 150,000 members globally, through their scientific advisory board and international opinion leaders.
Twenty-seven renowned implantology experts from 15 countries, met for the 3rd CleanImplant Ambassadors' Summit in the Berlin, Germany. With their experience and specialist knowledge, they support the goals and ideals of the organization helping to raise awareness globally of the need for flawless implant surfaces for cleaner and safer implantology and decreasing peri-implantitis potential.
The meeting took place on the eve of the 30th annual scientific meeting of the European Association for Osseointegration in Berlin. CleanImplant, in cooperation with Thermo Fisher Scientific, installed a scanning electron microscope at exhibition hall. The analysis protocol for determining surface contamination on implants was demonstrated on site to manufacturers and meeting attendees. Users brought implants from their practices that were examined directly, while CleanImplant provided information about those implant systems that have already been awarded the “Trusted Quality” seal for residue-free surfaces.
Presentations included, Prof. Dr. Patrick R. Schmidlin, of the University of Zurich, presented possible methods for analyzing cytotoxicity, inflammatory reaction and osteoblast viability as biological consequences of factory-related contamination on dental implants. Dr. Birgit Hagenhoff, Tascon GmbH, visiting professor at the University of Münster, spoke about how precise elementary and molecular information about the composition of particulate and thin-layer contaminants can be obtained on new manufactured implant surfaces. And Dr. Miguel Stanley, CleanImplant Ambassador and founder of the White Clinic Lisbon, hosted a discussion on “the importance of oral health in relation to our systemic health,” followed by Dr. Dirk U. Duddeck, who presented the CleanImplant Roadmap 2.0.
The event was funded solely by the CleanImplant Foundation, which advocates for transparency and unbiased, unfiltered scientific research.
