SprintRay Launches ProWash S Featuring Cloud Connectivity for a Simplified 3D Printing Workflow

Posted on Tuesday, July 11, 2023

● ProWash S simplifies clinical 3D printing workflows by using cloud connectivity to automatically pass print job information between devices

● A 5" onboard computer features contextual, step-by-step instructions for everything from daily tasks to scheduled maintenance.

● Improved wash performance and a new drying fan and ventilation system finish each cycle for appliances that are bone dry and ready to cure

SprintRay Inc., a global leader in digital dentistry and 3D printing solutions, announced the launch of ProWash S, a core piece of post processing hardware that thoroughly cleans and dries 3D printed parts. With advanced software and cloud capabilities, ProWash S connects SprintRay hardware devices to automatically pass print jobs between devices from 3D print to cure.

"ProWash S represents a big step toward a smarter dental workflow," said Hossein Bassir, Chief Product Officer. "We've taken all the lessons learned from the award winning Pro Wash/Dry to make targeted improvements, from advanced cloud features to a new user interface that is helpful and intelligent."

Cloud Connected for a Smarter Workflow

ProWash S features a 5" touchscreen computer equipped with advanced networking, allowing it to send and receive print job data. Accessing SprintRay Cloud allows it to receive critical information from the Pro S printer before washing - such as resin type and processing instructions - and pass curing profile information off to the ProCure 2.

The intelligent onboard system also provides step-by-step instructions for common workflow tasks and scheduled maintenance. Taken with the automation of cloud-based job handoff, this reduces the number of decisions and touchpoints, improving repeatability and reducing training needs.

Improved Hardware and Design Updates

Optimized motor dynamics and washing profiles improve wash quality across all resin types while reducing the overall cycle time. An all-new drying fan ensures parts are bone-dry, helping optimize mechanical properties during subsequent steps. ProWash S also allows users to create custom cleaning profiles, offering a new level of workflow control.

"SprintRay has been a game-changer in my practice the past 6 years," said Steven Shao, DMD. "With the remarkable ProWash S and its seamless one-touch operation, we are taking clinical efficiency and user-friendliness to a whole new level!"

Ergonomic Loupes Manufacturer Admetec Doubles Manufacturing Space, Names New Top Executives

Posted on Monday, July 10, 2023

Longtime COO Danny Katz promoted to Chief Business Officer, with engineering professional Ido Drory hired as new COO. Additional space utilized to meet increased demand for company’s loupes, headlights and other tools.

Admetec, a leader in design and manufacturing of custom-fitted magnification loupes and LED headlights for dentists, hygienists, surgeons, and veterinarians, has promoted longtime Chief Operating Officer Danny Katz to Chief Business Officer. Stepping into the COO role is Ido Drory, who joins Admetec with nearly a decade of engineering and business management experience across multiple sectors.

The executive moves come in tandem with recent expansion initiatives. Most notably, Admetec recently doubled the floorspace at its headquarters in Haifa, Israel, with the majority of the new space dedicated to additional assembly workstations and state-of-the-art tooling for its portfolio of loupes, headlights and camera systems.

Mr. Drory brings a track record of medical-adjacent successes to Admetec. Most recently, he served as VP of Operations & Business Management for nanotechnology medical device company Nobio. Other previous positions include Engineering, Manufacturing & Supply Chain Manager for Vectorious Medical Technologies, and head of Engineering for Alpha-Bio tech (Envista Corporation). He holds an Engineering B.Sc. & M.Sc in Chemical & Mechanical Engineering from Ben-Gurion & Tel Aviv University, and an MBA from the College of Management, majoring management of Tech companies.

Initially founded in 2006 as a developer of customized ergonomic loupes, Admetec has seen substantial growth especially in the last two years, more than doubling its workforce to over 100 engineers, production personnel and operations executives. Its emergence aligns with broader awareness among dentists of the importance of tools that preempt or relieve the musculoskeletal pain often associated with the slouching, straining or reaching common to the profession.

North America has been a particular bright spot, with Admetec averaging double-digit growth each quarter since its 2021 market entrance. The market need for ergonomic loupes has proven especially ripe, with the company’s Ergo Series of loupes gaining traction as a means of enabling dentists to work more effectively while reducing the risk of occupational chronic pain and injuries caused by cumulative trauma. This dovetails with a clearly defined, longstanding issue among dentists: according to the American Dental Association 2021 wellbeing survey, 84% of dentists reported pain or discomfort while working, and research shows as many as one-third retire prematurely due to physical ailments.

In addition to the C-Suite executive moves, in recent months Admetec has staffed up across a number of departments, including procurement, quality control and human resources.

“The industry is experiencing a sizable shift in the way dental professionals approach their operatory procedures – and thankfully, this includes addressing the pain and discomfort inherent to lengthy periods of unnatural body positions while serving patients,” said Mr. Katz. “Dentists are discovering that the magnification and other tools they use throughout their careers have a tangible effect not only on their patients’ health but their own, and that properly designed tools are necessary to fully realize their potential and protect their professional longevity.”

K Pharmaceuticals Launches Aquoral Protective Oral Spray for Dry Mouth Relief

Posted on Thursday, July 6, 2023

Delivers Sustainable Relief for up to 6 hours

K Pharmaceuticals is pleased to announce the launch of Aquoral, a clinically proven oral spray for Dry Mouth. Also known as Xerostomia, it is a common, sometimes debilitating condition caused by disease, medication side effects, or other factors that result in discomfort or pain, and may affect the ability to chew, taste, swallow, and speak.

“Dry Mouth is an under-reported but important condition that can lead to serious complications, especially in cancer patients,” said Sheryl Riley RN, OCN, CMCN, Founding Partner of Clarion LLC, a firm specializing in oncology care management. “Over-the-counter remedies provide temporary relief but do not protect the oral cavity. Aquoral forms a long-lasting protective barrier over the entire mouth, reducing moisture loss and maintaining the patient’s comfort and quality of life.”

Aquoral differs from aqueous-based treatments requiring patients to rinse-and-repeat up to ten times a day or to be mixed with water. Aquoral utilizes patented Oxidized Glycerol Triesters (OGT), a plant-derived, lipid-based technology. Previously marketed as Xerostomia Relief Spray and available only to dentists, Aquoral can now be prescribed by all healthcare professionals licensed to do so.

“As a pharmacist who specializes in oral medicine, I know that many prescriptions and over-the-counter medications can cause Xerostomia, which may negatively affect daily living activities and also result in serious oral health issues, such as gingivitis, periodontal disease, or mucositis.” said Thomas Viola, RPh, CCP. “It has been my experience that lipid-based therapies, such as Aquoral, are superior to water-based formulas in helping to prevent oral disease and provide long-lasting relief.” Aquoral is available by prescription only. For full prescribing information please visit www.aquoralspray.com.
