The 35th Annual American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Scientific Session in San Diego April 24 – 27 will feature two empowering speakers: Natalie Stavas, DMD and Justin Patton. Stavas will speak Wednesday, April 24, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, and Patton will present Friday, April 26, from 7:45 am to 8:45 am. These general sessions are included in attendees’ all-inclusive tuition package, and all conference attendees are encouraged to attend.
The AACD knows that achieving goals and dreams requires more than just clinical knowledge and skills, which is why they have chosen to bring in Natalie Stavas, Boston Marathon hero, humanitarian and award-winning physician and Justin Patton, executive coach, international speaker and energy guru to help AACD 2019 attendees navigate the “soft skills” side of success—the side that is often overlooked and undervalued.
Natalie Stavas, MD, is an expert in chaos and how to manage stressful situations. As she neared the finish line of her fifth Boston marathon, she heard explosions. Rather than flee for her own safety, she ran towards the explosions, and upon arriving at the scene, she went to work administering CPR, applying tourniquets, and triaging the wounded. What led her to make the decision to run into a terrorist attack? It was her attitude for approaching every obstacle in life.
Dr. Stavas will be speaking during AACD 2019’s opening General Session, Wednesday, April 24th, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the San Diego Convention Center and will help attendees understand how running towards chaos actually makes chaos more manageable, how internal chaos can paralyze people from achieving their full potential, and how meaning can be found in a chaotic world. This general session is for anyone who has ever felt unsure of how to move forward personally or professionally and will provide them with the insights they need to forge ahead on their way to success.
The second general session speaker, Justin Patton, is an international speaker and Executive Coach who believes “everything meaningful happens through conversation.” According to Patton, trust and communication are the foundation for every successful business, and good leaders understand the presence and mindset they show up with every day is shaping engagement, culture, and the next generation of leaders that will move the organization forward. Clinical results build the credibility of a business, but the way a team works together is what drives the business’s success. Justin Patton believes everyone can be a leader and builds his empowering platform on the mindset that, “You are a leader because you have influence, but it’s what you decide to do with your influence that will make all the difference.”
Patton will be speaking during AACD 2019’s final General Session, Friday, April 26, from 7:45 am to 8:45 am at the San Diego Convention Center and will help attendees understand how their energy impacts trust and influence, how leaders can take responsibility for their energy and the downstream impact it creates, and how they can strategically cultivate the type of leadership energy that will set their organization up for future success. Attendees will learn to communicate and lead more effectively and will be provided with the insights they need to change the energy in their workplace and empower themselves and others.
The 35th Annual American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Scientific Session General Sessions will ultimately open the minds of attendees so they can challenge themselves to be their best and reach their goals.
