CHICAGO, Aug. 13, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cortino Sukotjo, DDS, PhD, MMsC, FACP, has been honored with the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) Clinician/Researcher Award. Dr. Sukotjo will be honored at the Annual Awards & Presidents Dinner, where ACP formally recognizes individuals whose contributions to the specialty or to the College are outstanding and substantial. The 45th Annual Session of the American College of Prosthodontists will be held in Orlando from Oct. 21-24, 2015.
Dr. Sukotjo is a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. Dr. Sukotjo received his DDS Degree from the Padjadjaran University, Indonesia, followed by PhD in Oral Biology from UCLA and Certificate in Prosthodontics-Master from Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board Certified Prosthodontics, Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, Associate Fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics, the ADEA Policy Center Educational Research and Analysis Committee member, ADEA/William J. Gies Foundation Education Fellow, and Past President of the IADR/AADR Prosthodontic Research Group. He was recently awarded as the Best Research Mentor of the year by UIC-COD, and was the past recipient of the ACP Young Prosthodontist Innovator Award. Dr. Sukotjo has co-authored 90 peer-reviewed articles and 4 book chapters. He has mentored 65 predoctoral, resident, master, and PhD students as well as junior faculty members.
