Tallahassee, Florida - The Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology (“The Foundation” or “FDLT”), announced the five winners of the 2014 Fulcrum Grant:
Maria Caro (Sunrise, FL)
Chris Roman (Washington, PA)
Valerie Kalscheur (Poynette, WI)
Betty Zoller (Waterloo, IN)
Rosaleen Marion (Vestal, NY)
The Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology created this grant in order to support the Foundation’s purpose by making higher-level education more accessible to dental laboratory technicians. Up to $2,500 of grant funds will be awarded to each recipient in order to supplement expenses relating to an approved continuing education program to be attended in 2015.
In considering grant recipients, the Foundation considered the programs which the applicant wished to attend and by which body it was approved. In order for a program to be considered eligible for Fulcrum Grant funds, it must be approved by NBC, ADA CERP, or AGD.
This brand-new, competitive grant-selection process awards winners based on submitted materials that include planned usage of funds, and a contingency that the recipient must provide the Foundation with testimonial (web video submissions or written) about receiving the grant, attending the course, and how this experience affected their DLT career.
Grant recipients may re-apply in future years, as long as a report detailing use/impact of the grant funds is provided with the application. Those interested in applying for next year’s grants can apply online at https://www.dentallabfoundation.org/resources/fulcrum-grant/.
FDLT relies heavily on donations from individuals as well as companies to fund the scholarship and grant programs. Donations are accepted throughout the year. To support the Foundation, visit https://nadl.org/dltf/donate-online.cfm.
