LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 28, 2021) — PepperPointe Partnerships is pleased to announce that David North has been named as their new Chief Operating Officer (COO). North, an experienced business leader in the dental industry, joined PepperPointe on July 20.

For over 32 years, North has participated in the development and growth of both private practices and large dental service organizations (DSOs). As the executive vice president of field operations for Dental Care Alliance, one of the founding DSOs of the American Dental Service Organization, he played an integral part in the company's growth and success.

“I’m inspired by the mission, spirit and team at PepperPointe,” said North. “Their mission, in particular, really resonates with me and there’s great alignment there. I, too, believe the fundamental principles of a great DSO must begin with a relentless pursuit of quality patient care. When you stay focused on the true mission, supporting dentists who ultimately provide care for the patients, you’re protecting the patients and their communities. I’m honored to be part of their efforts to support that important work at PepperPointe.”

In North’s new role he will oversee all field and office-level operations, as well as vendor management, procurement and clinical practices and strategies to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.

“We are pleased to welcome David to our team,” said Dr. Greg White, president and CEO of PepperPointe Partnerships. “He is a talented leader, well-respected in the dental industry with a breadth of experience in dental operations. There is no doubt how much he cares about our business and our patients. He will play a key role in the future growth of PepperPointe, as well as ensuring greater excellence in our support of our partners and their practices.”

Founded in 2017, PepperPointe has more than tripled in size making it one of the fastest-growing DSOs in the world. The unique patient-centered and doctor-owned model ensures the continuity of care for patients remains intact and the legacy of the practices is preserved. North will serve as a member of the PepperPointe Executive Leadership Team at PepperPointe and play a key role in the continued growth of the organization as they look to expand across the country.

Ivoclar Vivadent AG, one of the world’s leading dental companies providing a comprehensive range of products and systems for dental professionals, today unveils its new Programat S2 sintering furnace. The new model boasts a revamped design, a new colour touchscreen display with an intuitive graphical user interface and a larger cooling tray. Intelligent features, such as shorter processing times and new calibration options, simplify the use of the furnace and promote work efficiency. Amidst all the enhancements, the proven sintering chamber has remained unchanged in the new model and will continue to ensure high-quality sintering processes. Additional benefits integral to the Programat S2 include: sintering at temperatures up to 1600 degrees Celsius, short sintering times (approx. 75 minutes for crowns made of IPS e.max ZirCAD) and a removable furnace head. Reliability and the ability to calibrate the furnace at any time are also strengths of this cutting-edge sintering furnace.

Dental technicians will appreciate the ease of use that the Programat S2 affords them, in addition to the high accuracy of the sintering results. The large colour touchscreen and enhanced user interface make for better visualization of essential information and significantly simplify operation. The furnace is operated in the same way as any other press and ceramic furnace of the Programat series. For maximum reliability, pre-programmed settings are available for all zirconium oxide materials from Ivoclar Vivadent. In addition, a variety of individual program options are there for dental technicians to choose from. Whether a fast or standard sintering program is selected, high sintering quality is integral to all of them. The OSD display is equipped with a new “blue” indicator for indicating the cooling phase of the furnace. The blue illumination is clearly visible even from a greater distance. The Programat S2 can be conveniently operated via a touchscreen. Progress of the sintering process can be monitored with the Programat app on a smartphone or tablet.

The furnace is equipped with modern software to control the sintering process and provide high-accuracy results. Impeccable results can be expected at all times, even in conjunction with long-span zirconia restorations or rapid sintering processes (single-tooth restorations).
