Welcome to IDT Weekly! I’m Jason Mazda, and here’s what’s new. The Santa Fe Group think tank announced that Robert Ganley has been awarded status as an emeritus member of its Strategic Advisory Council. Ganley retired last year as CEO of Ivoclar Vivadent, where he was one of the most respected leaders in the industry. It was always a privilege to see him speak at places like the IDS and Vision 21, so surely he will be a valuable asset to the Santa Fe Group. An NYU study indicates that roughly half of US dentists experienced verbal or reputational aggression by patients in the past year, and nearly one in four endured physical aggression. Health care settings were already known to be second only to law enforcement in their rates of violent incidents, so this should not be too surprising. Still, it’s a good reminder of what your clients have to deal with on a daily basis. With so many options on the market, it’s so important to know the indications and specifications for each material in order to best serve your dentists and their patients.
