Updates on Leixir Dental Group, Ivoclar Group, and Overjet, plus an article on the digital centric record technique (https://www.aegisdentalnetwork.com/idt/2022/02/the-digital-centric-record-technique).
Welcome to IDT Weekly! I’m Jason Mazda, and here’s what’s new. Leixir Dental Group announced the appointment of Christian Le Brun as CEO, succeeding founder Harmeet Bindra, who will continue on as Executive Chairman. Le Brun joins Leixir after 15 years at Aspen Dental, and he began his career as a dental technician. Leixir Board of Directors member Marshall Griffin says that experience will help Le Brun bring a unique perspective and skill set as Leixir expands its relationships with dentists, both in private practice and DSOs. The Ivoclar Group introduced a new logo and visual identity, including dropping the “Vivadent” in the brand name and logo to emphasize a clear focus on the essentials. Ivoclar Group CEO Diego Gabathuler says a clearly structured positioning is important with regard to a future-oriented alignment of the company, which leads to innovation that places customers and their patients at the center of their actions and activities. Dental AI company overjet announced the addition of Dr. Teresa Dolan as Chief Dental Officer. Dolan previously served as Clinical Officer for Dentsply Sirona for more than 8 years, and she is the President-elect of the Santa Fe Group think tank. Dolan says AI will transform the future of dentistry and that Overjet is at the forefront with technology that will become the new standard of care. Her predecessor, Dr. Robert Faiella, will continue with Overjet in an advisory role. This month in IDT, our MasterClass is a collaborative case co-authored by technician Miladoniv Milos. They explore a method in which the digital centric record technique is used and the denture design is fully digital. They walk through the planning steps as well as the laboratory procedure to achieve a really accurate implant prosthesis very efficiently. We hope you’ll give it a read. Well, that’s it for this week. Thank you, as always, for making IDT your source for the latest in dental laboratory technology.
