Updates on a loss for the profession and new additions at Argen and Roland, plus a TechEdge article on desktop scanners.
Welcome to IDT Weekly! I’m Jason Mazda, and here’s what’s new. VITA is mourning the loss of owner and president Henry Rauter, who passed away last month at the age of 76. Rauter guided the company for more than 40 years, representing the third generation of his family to do so. VITA says in a release that he “forged innovative pathways to set new standards with VITA,” with shade competence being particularly close to his heart. He’ll certainly be missed. Argen announced the addition of Joel Freedman as CFO, allowing Neil Wainstein to transition to Chief Risk Officer after two years covering both positions. Freedman most recently served as VP of Finance at the HydroFacial Company, and he says at Argen he sees “a unique openness for new ideas and thinking that can take us to new heights.” Roland announced three key organizational changes to further strengthen its leadership team. Director of Sales Amado Lara has been promoted to VP of Sales. Yadira Cepeda, who currently manages the Sales Development department, will now also oversee the Custer Service Department as Director of Sales Development and Customer Service. And Peter Chen has been hired as Director of Service to manage Technical Support and Field Service functions. This month in IDT, our TechEdge article comes from Kyle Russell and Jay Collins of Cornerstone Dental Lab. Cornerstone has experience with a number of different scanners, and Kyle and Jay were able to share with us what they have found to be most important in terms of purchasing criteria, machine maintenance, and more. We hope you’ll check it out. Well, that’s it for this week. Thank you, as always, for making IDT your source for the latest in dental laboratory technology.
