UNIVERSAL PRIMER™
Dual-curable, dual-cure compatible primer with virtually no postoperative sensitivity
Figure 1 | BISCO offers adhesive products that are compatible with dual-cure and self-cure resin-based cements and core materials (All-Bond 2®, One-Step®, All-Bond SE®/TE™/3®, etc.). In addition, BISCO offers adhesive products that are dual-curable for instances where a curing light cannot reach or penetrate a restorative material (All-Bond 2, All-Bond TE/3). All-Bond Universal® is a simple one-bottle adhesive system that meets all the needs of the clinician using a superior chemical formulation based on 30 years of research.
Despite All-Bond Universal’s film thickness of only 10 microns, some clinicians prefer an adhesive/primer that does not need to be light-cured, ensuring that the indirect restoration will seat properly regardless of the film thickness of the adhesive layer. To satisfy that need, BISCO created Universal Primer™ based on the chemistry of All-Bond Universal.
Universal Primer does not need to be light-cured for post cementation or under crowns, onlays, inlays, etc. when used with dual-cure or self-cured restorative materials. It can also be used in other direct restorative procedures, such as core build-ups or composite restorations after light-curing the adhesive. Universal Primer is compatible with self-cure, light-cure, and dual-cure materials, and the chemistry offers flexibility to self-etch, selective-etch, or total-etch.
Universal Primer provides a seal to minimize microleakage, and when used with BISCO’s Duo-Link Universal™ cement, shows higher bond strengths when compared to other systems. In addition, it is compatible with other popular cementation systems.
Universal Primer combines ease of use with virtually no postoperative sensitivity. It is available in a 2-bottle system or in the convenient, all-in-one ACE® cartridge system. To help simplify material selection and continue to provide maximum clinical performance, Universal Primer is also available in a system kit with Duo-Link Universal. This combination offers superior bond strength and esthetics.
Highlights
1. Light
No light-curing necessary when used for indirect restorations
2. Thickness
Low film thickness (<5 μm)
3. Flow
Low viscosity allows the adhesive/primer to readily flow into etched surfaces and offers both chemical and mechanical sealing
4. Curing
Both dual-curable and dual-cure compatible
5. Etching
Can be used with total-, self-, and selective-etch techniques
6. Ease & Sensitivity
Clinical evaluation confirms the ease of use as a benefit, with virtually no postoperative sensitivity
