Maximize Efficiency With One-Shade Technology

As a general dentist with a focus on cosmetic dentistry, I find both technology and materials to be of extreme importance. My practice in New York City uses digital planning for restorative and orthodontic aligner treatments, and my philosophy as a dental professional is to combine esthetics with overall oral health to create beautiful smiles for my patients. One way that I can achieve great esthetics is by using innovative and versatile materials that are enhanced by technology.
I started using the OMNICHROMA® product family from Tokuyama in April of 2019 and have had a really great experience with the materials. OMNICHROMA is a single-shade universal composite that can shade-match all 16 VITA classical tooth shades from A1 to D4. Along with the standard one-shade universal composite, OMNICHROMA is available as a flowable composite, OMNICHROMA® Flow, and a bulk-fill composite, OMNICHROMA® Flow BULK.
The material's Smart Chromatic Technology and supra-nano spherical fillers are what allow clinicians to shade-match almost any color of teeth, and for me, the shade-matching technology is the top reason why OMNICHROMA materials stand out over other composites on the market. Not having to shade match every tooth allows me to save time during procedures, making my practice more efficient—and my patients like the reduced chair time as much as I do. Furthermore, due to the vast shade-matching capabilities, I do not need to purchase composite shades that are not frequently used. This is a huge benefit because I can still offer all patients an equal opportunity for a perfect shade-matched result while not needing to potentially waste product inventory when certain shades are not used.
When I use OMNICHROMA Flow for anterior restorations, I always get a beautiful and natural-looking result. Moreover, using OMNICHROMA Flow to restore incisal edges lets me create a natural translucent appearance with a nice luster after polishing. I have found that the high polishability of OMNICHROMA Flow is one of my favorite features, and I also love the handling and consistency of the material. It is not runny, and it flows well into my tooth preparations without creating voids.
Apart from the many great features of these materials, working with the team at Tokuyama has been excellent. They have great communication with their customers and have been very helpful and clear when my office has called with questions.
