Planmeca PlanScan®
Robust tools for a seamless digital workflow
The world is going digital, and dentistry is no exception. As practices strive to stay up-to-date, digital technology is being incorporated into practices to enhance and simplify procedures, helping dentists to achieve the maximum in productivity. Planmeca PlanScan® restorative system allows dental offices to offer advanced, more streamlined services; accept more patients; and provide treatments with greater efficiency.
Planmeca PlanScan Scanner for Open CAD/CAM
The PlanScan scanner is the only scanner in the world with blue laser technology, which has a smaller and more reflective wavelength of 450 nm. The results are sharper images that allow for more clinically precise prosthetics. Convenient plug-and-play technology provides the freedom to scan at multiple workstations. The removable scanner tips feature fog-eliminating heated mirrors as well as whisper-quiet fans to dissipate heat, which enables continuous scanning without interruption. When you compare the time-saving benefits of PlanScan’s video rate capture over traditional impression-taking methods, there is no comparison.
Planmeca PlanScan is a laptop-based modular system that, which can be configured in many ways. Step in with digital impressions, scan and design, or go all in and add the Planmeca® PlanMill 40 for full in-office productivity. The Thunderbolt™ connection provides high-speed data transfer and plug-and-play ability for easier mobility—just unplug and move on to scan another case.
Planmeca’s PlanCAD® software creates a custom restoration for every patient. It’s extremely easy to learn and use, with robust design tools that assist in designing single units, inlays/onlays, veneers, and bridges. The design software automatically positions and shapes the selected tooth template to match the central grooves, cusp heights, and marginal ridges of the actual proximal dentition.
Improved Digital Workflow—The Power of One
The greatest enhancement to the PlanScan System® comes with powerful image management available via Planmeca Romexis®. Romexis is a completely open image management system that integrates 2D and 3D images with virtually any system, allowing the dental professional to import and join DICOM files and .stl (digital impression) files all with one single interface.
Planmeca Romexis presents a HIPAA-compliant, user-friendly software package that requires minimal training. Images can be viewed anywhere using the mobile applications. Cases can also be quickly shared between clinics or labs, helping dentists improve treatment planning for specialized cases.
Romexis integrates seamlessly with Henry Schein’s DDX technology platform to facilitate fast and easy case collaboration between practices and labs. DDX is free for practices, stores case details and digital files indefinitely for easy future access, and offers HIPAA-complaint file transfer for files of any size. With DDX, practices can connect with any lab, and practices are able to manage all lab work from within a single cloud-based application. DDX provides a practice with next generation lab case management and is optimized for the era of digital dentistry.
Planmeca PlanMill 40
The Planmeca PlanMill 40 features wireless connection, and its easy touch-screen operation offers dental professionals an easy-to-use and intuitive user interface. Dual spindles mill on both sides of the restoration simultaneously, and calculate custom milling paths with micron-precise accuracy. What’s more, the automatic tool changer selects the appropriate bur and replaces worn burs automatically.
Planmeca PlanMill 40 works with a wide range of advanced materials, such as IPS e.max® (Ivoclar Vivadent), Lava™ Ultimate (3M ESPE), Telio® CAD (Ivoclar Vivadent), and Zirlu® FC zirconia (Zahn Dental). Each material and restoration type then has its own custom tool path for optimal accuracy and finish.
