Pacific Dental Services-Supported Dentists Complete More Than One Million In-Office CEREC CAD/CAM Restorations

Posted on Wednesday, October 7, 2015

RVINE, Calif.Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading the way in digital dentistry, Pacific Dental Services® (PDS®)-supported dentists have reached a major milestone and have completed more than one million CEREC® Computer-Aided Design (CAD)/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) indirect restorations in their offices.

Enabling dentists to produce indirect restorations in-office and reducing the need to send a dental impression to a laboratory for milling, the CEREC CAD/CAM system allows dentists to provide their patients with restorations in a single appointment. With the use of modern CAD/CAM dentistry, patients no longer have to schedule multiple trips to the dentist in order to have a restoration done and can enjoy the convenience of same-day dentistry.

"PDS-supported dentists have always been at the forefront of the migration to modern dentistry and with this unprecedented achievement of completing one million in-office restorations, they are now leading the transition," said Stephen Thorne, founder, president and CEO of Pacific Dental Services.  "The CAD/CAM dental technology allows clinicians to have the ability to produce restorations in a single visit, delivering on the supported dentists' drive for clinical excellence and providing the highest level of patient care."

"PDS-supported dentists have demonstrated world-class ability to perform single-visit restorations and complete restorative procedures with precision, quality, and efficiency," said Michael Augins, president of Sirona Dental, Inc. and executive vice president of Sirona Dental Systems, Inc. "Sirona is delighted to share this remarkable achievement of one million in-office restorations with PDS and help provide an unparalleled standard of patient care, while minimizing the patients' time in the chair and increasing the dentists' bottom line."
