Opportunity Abounds
Peter Pizzi, MDT, CDT
More than 600 dental professionals gathered last September in Phoenix, Arizona, to learn about the newest techniques, materials, hardware, and software for the digital fabrication of removable prosthetics at the IDT International Digital Denture Symposium. With an even split of clinicians and laboratory technicians, along with some denturists and other dental professionals, the event was proof that this new frontier is truly collaborative in nature. Various digital options are available for both the clinical and laboratory processes involved with fabricating dentures, and the better understanding that both sides have of those options, the better care they will be able to provide for patients. As the edentulous population grows with the aging of the Baby Boomer generation, the opportunity presented by an extremely precise, extraordinarily efficient denture process is becoming increasingly significant.
Part of IDT's mission is to advance the spirit of team collaboration in dentistry, and this supplement is intended to share insights on this exciting segment with Inside Dentistry's readership. We hope you will gain valuable knowledge from these pages, and we hope to see you at the 2019 IDT International Digital Denture Symposium on September 27-28 in Atlanta, Georgia!
