Symposium Update: Times Set for General Sessions
The main-stage agenda for the 2018 IDT International Digital Denture Symposium is taking shape, as all but one general session have been announced for the event September 28 to 29 at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona.
Following 7 AM registration, the symposium will begin at 8 AM with a keynote presentation from Valerie Cooper, DDS, MS, entitled "How Digital Dentures Change EVERYTHING." Cooper, nicknamed "The Denture Queen," also lectured at last year's sold-out symposium in Baltimore, Maryland.
"I look forward to sharing more about how digital dentures are truly a revolution, yet we are maintaining our focus on the classic principles of removable prosthodontics," Cooper says. "We can help make removable prosthodontics a better solution for dentists, clinics, laboratories, and patients."
Cooper's lecture will be followed by two more general sessions. Stephen Campbell, DDS, MMSc, will present "Evidence-Based Research into the Efficacy of Digital Denture Materials and Clinical Outcomes" at 9 AM. Lyndon Cooper, DDS, and Lee Culp, CDT, will present "Digital Workflow: Implementing Efficiency for Clinicians and Technicians" at 9:45 AM.
Following a networking break, during which the tradeshow exhibits will be open, attendees will be directed to their pre-selected courses for the first workshop series at 11 AM. There will be one more general session before lunch. The second workshop series will start at 2 PM, followed by another networking break, and then the third workshop series.
At 4:30 PM, Vincent Verderosa, CDT, will present "Digital Dentures Resolving Problems, a Case Study Review." The first day's education portion will conclude with BJ Kowalski's presentation, "Technology on the Horizon: 3D Printing and Other Advances," at 5:15 PM. A networking cocktail reception will follow from 6 PM to 7:30 PM.
Saturday starts with breakfast at 7 AM, followed by keynote Stephen Wagner, DDS, presenting "Managing Patient Expectations for Digital Denture Success" at 8 AM. Alexander Wunsche, CDT, will present "Achieving Esthetics" at 9 AM before a networking break and then the final workshop series.
At 11:15 AM, Michael Scherer, DDS, will present "Business Benefits—Marketing the Technology." A panel discussion at noon will follow, and the symposium concludes with a networking luncheon at 12:45 PM.
Complete information about each workshop series will be available soon. Registrants will be asked to select one workshop from each series.
