New Beginnings
It's been a little over a year since IDT announced the addition of two outstanding and well-respected members of the dental technology community to our staff. Over the course of that year, working with Peter Pizzi, MDT, CDT, Co-Editor-in-Chief, and Daniel Alter, MSc, MDT, CDT, Director of Content Acquisition and Professional Relations, has been rewarding, as they have immersed themselves in the new universe of publishing and grown to understand how important their leadership and passion for the industry will be to the future success of the publication.
IDT has always been a strong, if not oftentimes strident, advocate for embracing change and for postulating the positive impact change brings to a business, whether that business is a dental laboratory or a publication servicing the laboratory industry. Like you, IDT believes that the diversity of new perspectives and new generational energies are paramount to successfully operating a business and moving it forward in what is, without doubt, a rapidly changing and challenging landscape.
In recognition, the time has come for me to step back and let a new generation take the helm. Beginning with this issue, I am excited to announce that Peter Pizzi will assume the responsibilities of Editor-in-Chief and Daniel Alter of Executive Editor. As many of you know, Peter is passionate about teaching the current generation of dental technicians, both here and abroad. Daniel embodies that same passion in the classroom, imparting his wisdom to students who will become the next generation of dental technicians. Both are deeply committed to elevating the status of the profession in the dental industry. Together, they are a powerful team that will continue IDT's commitment to bring you the information you need each month in order to remain competitive and relevant in the market.
As for me? I will not be retiring but will remain actively involved in IDT as advisor and consultant, helping in the transition, albeit less hands-on than before. As co-founder of this publication, along with my friend and business partner, Valerie Berger, we have had the distinct pleasure of creating a publication dedicated to helping this industry move forward and meet the challenges of tomorrow. And on this journey, we continue to be amazed at the warmth and kindness, as well as the ingenuity and fortitude, of the countless professionals we have met along the way, many of whom it is an honor to call friend.
