Racing for the Industry’s Future
The big winner of the August 25-26, 2017 Transamerica Chicago Triathlon this year was the NADL Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology. With support from 30 sponsors, a group of 23 triathletes, representing the broad spectrum of professionals from the dental technology manufacturing, publishing, laboratory, and association communities, swam, ran, and biked and raised $82,500 for the Race for the Future 4.0 campaign this year.
This marks the fourth year in a row that the Race for the Future campaign has met or exceeded its fundraising goals and, since its launch in 2014, it has raised more than $260,000 in total contributions to the Foundation. “The funds coming from the Race for the Future now comprise more than 42% of the total Foundation operating budget,” says Bennett Napier, CAE NADL. “The increase in funds has allowed us to not only double the number of CDT Pillar Scholarships granted each year, but also invest in developing an online basic training workforce curriculum, which we will be launching next year, that laboratory owners can access to help train employees.”
Next year’s Race for the Future 5.0 will once again be held in conjunction with the Transamerica Chicago Triathlon on August 25-26, 2018. There are several levels of race events to match the various age groups and skill levels of participants. Plan on joining colleagues and friends as a race participant, supporting one or more of the athletes with a donation, or simply make a donation to the Foundation to support its important mission.
