AACD Scientific Session
Meeting provided lab techs with opportunities for collaboration, continuing education.
More than 2,000 dental professionals traveled from various points around the world to attend the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s (AACD) 27th Annual Scientific Session in Boston, "The Rise of Collaboration." Of the professionals in attendance, 103 were laboratory technicians. The conference, held May 18–21, offered attendees nearly 150 continuing education classes, 40 specifically recommended to lab techs, in addition to a product exhibition featuring more than 167 companies and 660 representatives.
The AACD celebrated the achievements of its 28 newly accredited members, five of which were laboratory technicians, and newly accredited fellow at the Celebration of Excellence Gala, and honored a number of individuals for their dedication and excellence in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Several fundraisers conducted during the session to benefit the AACD Charitable Foundation’s Give Back a Smile program raised about $30,000. The money will help restore the smiles of domestic violence survivors.
