New agreement combines implant and abutment businesses.

Sybron Dental Specialties, Inc and Implant Direct International, Inc have entered into a definitive purchase agreement that combines their implant and abutment businesses into a single operation to be named Implant Direct Sybron Int’l. Gerald Niznick, DMD, MSD, president and founder of Implant Direct, will lead the combined business.

“Implant Direct has created a unique value proposition in the implant industry by being able to offer high-quality, innovative dental implant products at compelling prices through its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, California,” says Dan Even, president of Sybron Dental Specialties. “Under Dr. Niznick’s continued leadership, this acquisition, in combination with Sybron Implant Solutions and Attachments International, strengthens Sybron’s position in the implant industry.”

Implant Direct offers the Spectra implant and products compatible with other manufacturers’ systems, including Nobel Biocare and Zimmer. Sybron Dental is one of the leading providers of dental consumables and products, with a reported annual revenue of $800 million.
