Awards Reflect the Audience

Every page you read in Inside Dental Hygiene is designed with you, the dental hygienist, in mind. This profession is a vibrant one, full of enthusiastic people who are engaged in providing the best patient care while also pursuing ambitious career and life goals of their own. We want our journal to reflect that, and when we win design awards, we consider it a reflection on you, our amazing audience.

In 2021, IDH has earned a Hermes Creative Platinum Award; a Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) Health + Wellness Design Award; and an Azbee (ASBPE Award of Excellence) National Bronze and a Regional Gold. The Hermes Creative Awards honor "the messengers and creators of the information revolution" and "bring their ideas to life," according to the organization's website. The GDUSA Health + Wellness Design Awards honor graphic design excellence in what that organization calls a "hugely important and high-profile arena." The Azbees, meanwhile, are among the most prestigious and competitive awards in publishing.

We are proud of the achievements of designer Jennifer Barlow and illustrator Craig Bowman-the awards are well-deserved. We'd also like to thank you, the dental hygienist and IDH reader, for continuing to inspire and motivate our entire team to be our best. As the dental hygiene profession continues to serve its patients at the highest of levels, we pledge to continue serving you to the best of our abilities as well.
