At its best, teeth whitening can often prove to be a frustrating, problematic, and unpredictable proposition. So, what do you do when you are faced with a particularly difficult case, such as a 17-year-old female patient with fluorosis? If you are David Simon, DDS, you turn to KöR Whitening. Specifically, you turn to the KöR® Ultra Whitening System.
According to Simon, “Over the years, I had heard many great things about the KöR Whitening System and decided that this was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. Given the patient’s age and the seriousness of her condition, it looked to be the best-case alternative for her. Each week of treatment showed significant results, and in the end, we were both extremely pleased with what amounted to a life-changing whitening result.”
The KöR Ultra whitening protocol begins with an initial office visit involving two 20-minute applications with KöR 13% Hydremide® Peroxide whitening gel in whitening trays. No paint-on dam or retractors are necessary during this visit. This is followed by 4 weeks of at-home whitening with the KöR 16% carbamide peroxide formula. Treatment is completed with a final in-office application of KöR 34% Hydremide® Peroxide gel.
One of the keys to KöR’s success with difficult cases is the company’s unique KöR Dual-Activated, Tri-Barrel™ Hydremide® Peroxide formulation and delivery system. It is the first and only whitening system to utilize a tri-barrel delivery configuration.
For maximum effectiveness, certain chemicals cannot be mixed together until just prior to use. Keeping the chemistry separated into three isolated chambers permits the addition of more ingredients, creating a more sophisticated, exceptionally effective formulation.
Super-resistant stains, such as those from tetracycline, fluorosis, and even dentinogenesis imperfecta, can be flooded with the concentrations of bleaching factors necessary to obtain truly white teeth.
Heat is the enemy of whitening gel potency, and gel potency is a big factor to ensuring totally satisfied whitening patients. Constant refrigeration virtually stops the breakdown of whitening gels. Refrigeration also eliminates the need for chemical stabilizers, which can increase the osmolarity of gels by as much as 11 times. That increased osmotic “pull” on dentinal tubular fluid further increases sensitivity.
KöR Whitening is the first company to offer a full line of teeth whitening products that are constantly refrigerated—from the moment of manufacture until they are received cold-packed at the dental practice.
KöR provides cost-effective solutions from phenomenal home whitening for average patients, to astonishing in office treatment for tetracycline cases, and everything in between.
