In the first CE article, the authors present a review on adhesive cementation of indirect composite restorations, an important and complex procedure that requires specific knowledge. After conducting a comprehensive and thorough analysis of the dental literature, including research on adhesive systems with regard to bond strength and application methods, they conclude that indirect composite resin techniques have proven to be clinically acceptable in terms of survival rate and esthetic long-term results. However, careful management of adhesive cementation protocols, as described, is essential.
