FEATURED CONTENT

CE: Soft-Tissue Reconstruction at Anterior Implant Sites With Soft-Tissue Dehiscences
Lorenzo Tavelli, DDS, MS, PhD; Giovanni Zucchelli, DDS, PhD; Hom-Lay Wang, DDS, MSD, PhD; and Shayan Barootchi, DMD, MS
The treatment of peri-implant soft-tissue dehiscence (PSTD), an esthetic complication of implant surgery, can be quite challenging for many clinicians. This article describes the treatment of this complication by means of a coronally advanced flap and connective tissue graft with submerged healing, as well as the clinical characteristics of the PSTDs, such as the buccolingual position of the implant, that are most favorable for treatment with this approach. A case presentation is included in this article.

Coronectomy: An Alternative to Complicated Full-Bony Impacted Tooth Removal
Gary Orentlicher, DMD; and Andrew Horowitz, DMD, MD
When an impacted tooth is in close proximity to the inferior alveolar nerve canal, nerve injury, including permanent injury, is a well-known potential complication of impacted tooth removal. This case report article provides four case reports describing how coronectomy can be employed to successfully mitigate the risk and sequelae of nerve trauma.
