EDITOR'S NOTE
Although the principles of dental treatment generally are consistent, every patient is different, and clinicians must be able to recognize these differences. This idea is demonstrated in this issue’s continuing education (CE) articles. The first considers the question of tooth extraction; the authors explain why this procedure is not appropriate in every case and, in fact, should be considered a last resort. Our second CE points out variances in pharmacological principles between pediatric and adult patients. Indeed, the uniqueness of each patient keeps dentistry fun and interesting. We hope at you are reminded of this as you enjoy this issue of Compendium.

Sincerely,

Louis F. Rose, DDS, MD
Editor-In-Chief
