Tokuyama Dental’s OMNICHROMA Delivers Any Shade With One Composite

As the owner of a private general and cosmetic dentistry practice in suburban Los Angeles, James Chae, DDS, strives to provide extraordinary service with honesty and dedication, and so does his team. "I look for a composite that is non-sticky, allows good working time, and is not too soft or too hard," Chae explains. The material, he adds, should be able to be easily placed on the tooth and sculpted with hand instruments. Additionally, he says, it should be one that can be polished easily, blends naturally to the tooth, and, perhaps most importantly, gives the patient a long-term, wear-resistant restoration.

Chae also favors OMNICHROMA because of its ability to be used for Class I, II, III, IV, and V restorations. "Most frequently, I use it for Class V restorations," he affirms. "Typically, these are very challenging procedures due to the need to match the root surface of the tooth. With OMNICHROMA, this is not a problem."

In working with Class IV restorations, Chae notes that the OMNICHROMA BLOCKER can be used in conjunction with OMNICHROMA. "The OMNICHROMA BLOCKER can be applied when there is missing tooth surface, as it blocks the background of the mouth and creates a lingual shell to support the composite material," he attests.

Because of the ability of OMNICHROMA to blend with any tooth shade, Chae says that in addition to not having to worry about selecting the right shade he no longer needs to supply his practice with many different composite shades to achieve natural-looking restorations. This, he claims, reduces his inventory and overhead costs.
