From the Publisher
Dear Readers,
It is with great sorrow and a profound sense of loss that we acknowledge the passing of our Founding Editor, D. Walter Cohen, on Friday, June 29.
Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry was one of Walter's many creations, achievements, and passions. A man who dedicated his life to constant learning, he insisted that dentistry have a journal that could stand up to the scrutiny of a blinded, peer-review process and be counted among the great healthcare publications indexed in the Library of Congress.
Rather than try to chronicle Dr. Cohen's prodigious career and accomplishments here, we want you to know that we will be featuring a comprehensive tribute in our upcoming October issue. Then, beginning in January 2019 and coinciding with the 40th anniversary year of the journal, each of the 10 issues in 2019 will include a tribute from various institutes, associations, and individuals who were shaped, influenced, and forever changed through mentorship by this remarkable man.
We who were lucky enough to have known Dr. Cohen will remember and honor him always.
The Cohen Amsterdam Education Foundation will be holding its inaugural event September 22 in Philadelphia. For those wishing to attend or contribute to the Foundation's mission in remembrance of Dr. Cohen, all the program information is available at www.CDEWorld.com/CAEF.
Sincerely,
